Businesses on show

12 Mar, 2010 08:53 AM
Business will be booming at the Muswellbrook Racecourse next Friday when more than 30 local companies showcase just what they have to offer.

The event will be the inaugural Upper Hunter Business and Trades Expo and those involved are hoping to draw in the crowds with information on their quality goods and services on offer from 10am.

Organisations have been spearheaded by the Hunter Region Business Enterprise Centre (BEC) and Muswellbrook Race Club.

Hunter Region BEC representative and event coordinator

Julie Fibbins said it would be a valuable day for businesses and customers alike.

“I am expecting it will be an exciting and relaxed environment where the businesses can network while also promoting their service and products,” she said.

“It will be a lot of fun in a beautiful setting and there will be a lot of activity with a number of workshops.”

The business expo will coincide with the Aberdeen Cup Race Day in the hope of bringing even more people to the various stands that will be set up.

The race day will feature eight races with the first beginning at 1.18pm.

Between two of the races there will be an opportunity for the ladies to get a glimpse at fashions from a new store yet to open. At about 4pm a short ladies fashion parade will be held by ‘Classique on Brook’ who will open their doors for the first time the following day.

Business owners, staff and customers will all have the opportunity to relax and celebrate what the region has to offer the night prior to the expo.

An official opening dinner will be held at the Muswellbrook Race Club on Thursday night from 7pm featuring guest speaker Jim Knowles who is the director of the Jim Knowles group.

Tickets are still available for the dinner and seats can be secured by contacting Julie Fibbins on 0428 238 399.

A small number of spaces at the expo are still available but any last minute businesses will need to be quick to get their place.
