Entrants in the 2012 Upper Hunter Showgirl competition will have a lot to look forward to this year.
Upper Hunter Show committee president Keith Googe said there was a lot of work going into improving the competition.
The young women who enter will have the opportunity to make promotional appearances at the Muswellbrook Race Club events in the lead-up to the Upper Hunter Show.
Opportunities such as this will allow them to meet more people and support their community.
The return of the grand parade at the show will see the showgirls take a ride on the back of some classic soft top cars that are being arranged by the Upper Hunter Motoring Association.
There will also be a more official crowning ceremony to properly recognise the successful young woman.
“We have plans under way to have the entrants more involved with the show,” Mr Googe said.
“Young ladies are able to learn new things and meet new people from the competition.”
This year will also see improvements to the prizes on offer as more businesses within the community offer their support.
Upper Hunter Showgirl competition organiser Cloe Tuller said entrants so far were promising.
“It will be a competitive event this year,” she said.
With more entries rolling in there is always room for more support.
“We are always looking for more events willing to utilise the Upper Hunter Showgirl,” Miss Tuller said.
Entry forms can be downloaded from www.upperhuntershow.com.au or by phoning Cloe Tuller on 0427 562 781.
Entries for the competition will close on Friday, March 2.
