Offal spill delays traffic in main street of Muswellbrook

24 Dec, 2010 08:53 AM
The truck was travelling south when it had to brake

suddenly, spilling the animal waste onto the road at the round-about at the intersection of Market Street and the New England Highway.

Several cars lost control after driving through the offal and ended up on the traffic island on the opposite of the round-about.

Police conducted a stop and go until about 5pm, while the Muswellbrook Fire Brigade cleaned the substance off the road.

Sand and absorbent was also put down on the road, which made the area less slippery for motorists.

The identity of the driver of

the truck is unknown and anyone with information is asked to contact police on 6542 1399.
