The Muswellbrook Cats AFL Club is expanding its player group this year to include an under 14s junior team.
This is a very exciting time for the club and for Muswellbrook.
A successful Auskick program has been established over the last two years in town and the junior side is a chance for young players who are now too old for Auskick to stay in AFL.
The traditional stomping ground of rugby league and rugby union, Muswellbrook has a great opportunity to make AFL another sporting strength in our community.
The Muswellbrook Cats senior side are excited at the prospect of having an aspiring group of young players to represent the club.
The under 14s will play on a full sized field with no restrictions and normal rules.
Steve Mullane will take on the role of coaching the under 14s side while Dave Howard will take over as coach of the senior side.
So if you or someone you know is aged 11 to 13 years as of January 1, 2010, then give Steve and Donna Mullane a call on 6543 5119.
Games will be on Sundays and numbers need to be finalised by the end of this month.
The Muswellbrook Cats senior side will resume training on Thursday from 6pm at Werriman Oval and will continue each Monday and Thursday.
Registrations will be taken for the under 14s and Auskick from 11am on Sunday February 7, that will be followed by registrations for the seniors at noon, with a barbecue after.
