O'Brien is youngest black belt

12 Jun, 2009 04:55 PM
UNITED Taekwondo held their second Grading Test for the year on the weekend with students from Grade 10 (white belt) through to Grade 1 (brown belt black tip) all proving themselves through vigorous exam exercises including punching, kicking, taekwondo techniques and patterns.

United Taekwondo also had four students sitting for their first Dan black belt, with a student from Muswellbrook Club, 12-year-old Daniel O’Brien sitting for his black belt.

Throughout Daniel’s grading he showed strength, technique and persistence.

His performance gained Daniel the chance of a first Dan black belt with a two board side kick break.

This level is not usually achieved until 16 years of age.

Daniel has become the youngest student of United Taekwondo to achieve a first Dan black belt.

Daniel is the proof of hard work and dedication to the art of self defence. Congratulations Daniel.

United Taekwondo has been running for 31 years.
