MUSWELLBROOK’S Physical Culture Club has capped off a successful year with five of its members attending national finals.
Last week Channy McPhee attended her competition, where she made it to the finals, which is a great achievement.
Juniors Brooke Jordan, Kate Wilcox and Hayley Cook will travel to Sydney for their national finals at Homebush on November 29, while senior Liesl Marden will compete in her national final next weekend at the Opera House.
A large contingent of the club’s members competed at the junior zone competition in Tamworth at the end of October, achieving some great results.
Hayley Cook, Bronte Collins, Zanni Gould, Kate Wilcox, Gabby Jones, Erin Miskle, Olivia Pottinger, Hannah Wilcox, Keedi Hartin, Brooke Jordan, Monique Bianco and Nicole Dunn all made the finals.
Hayley, Kate and Brooke were successful in gaining a placing at zone, entitling them to their chance at the national finals.
Teams also competed at zone, with Margie Derksen’s 9/10 years team placing second.
At the senior and ladies zone competition at Coffs Harbour in September, Sienna Roxby (15 years), Channy McPhee (open ladies under 33) and Margie Derksen (open ladies over 43) all made the finals, with Channy taking out second place in her category.
The club recently celebrated the end of its season, with perpetual trophies awarded to Sophie Davis (junior marcher), Liesl Marden (senior marcher), Bronte Collins (junior club person), Brooke Jordan (senior club person) and Mel Collins (club person of the year).
Classes resume in February 2010 for ladies and girls aged from three upwards.
