The annual tradition has been an object of delight for Lioness members and contest winners alike.
The Lioness ladies recently met with 2013 winner, Betty Nichols, to applaud her horticultural efforts.
They said winners in previous years have always been very pleased with their success and this year’s recipient was no exception.
Mrs Nichol loves looking after her garden and was happy to hear it brought enjoyment to others as well, qualifying it as Muswellbrook’s prettiest.
“I was a little bit shocked to tell the truth; pleasantly, of course,” she told the Chronicle.
“The enjoyment you get after everything’s flowered – it’s very satisfying and relaxing.
“I’d spend all day out in the garden if I could, I just don’t have the time.”
In recognition of her win, Muswellbrook Lioness Club gave Ms Nichols a framed certificate and congratulatory gift.
