Representing Lions Club of Aberdeen and the wider Aberdeen community, Miss Field has progressed to the state finals after her win at Lemon Tree Passage on March 29.
More than 100 people saw the teenager crowned as overall winner and public speaking victor at the event.
Tomorrow, the local girl will compete with contemporaries from across NSW at Nambucca Heads for the state title.
Lions Club of Aberdeen secretary Judy Lanyon said the success was a big pat on the back for all involved.
“It’s big kudos for St Joseph’s,” Mrs Lanyon told the Chronicle.
“Kate is looking to encourage other students to go in next year.
“I’ve had a lot of emails and calls from those who saw her at Lemon Tree Passage wishing Kate well.
“She is building in confidence every time.”
Miss Field said she has thoroughly enjoyed her experience in the competition so far.
Success at state level will qualify her for the national stage.
Greg Waters represented Aberdeen two decades ago and won the National Championships.
“Kate hopes to emulate this achievement,” Mrs Lanyon said.
