The Muswellbrook resident took home the Youth Sector Worker of the Year award at the recent Regional Service Awards.
Mrs McPhee said she likes the community aspect of her role as youth and family support worker.
“In my role, I am able to spark discussions around various topics and encourage the young people to think for themselves and to be challenged,” she told the Chronicle.
“For me, is all about creating an inclusive environment where the needs of the young person are met.
“There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a young person lift up to their full potential and for them to be the best they can be.”
Mrs McPhee stepped into the role of coordinator at Upper Hunter Youth Services 15 months ago and said there have been a lot of changes in that time.
Her nominator said she was passionate about her work, often going above and beyond to provide for the community.
