The pupils were required to organise their own awareness campaign in their enrichment classes.
The students decided to rally together to create a Movember campaign for men’s health, complete with 20 metre-long moustache.
On Tuesday, students from the school attended a special assembly which taught them about the various health issues facing men.
While it may have been a year 7 project, the whole school supported Movember activities.
The male teachers grew moustaches during November and the whole school posed for a photo with fake moustaches on sticks at Tuesday’s assembly.
Twenty-nine students were involved in a fundraising campaign to sell cupcakes and fake tattoo moustaches during lunchtime.
All money raised was collected to be given to the Movember foundation.
Teacher Debbie Pitt said the Movember Foundation covered everything from cancer to mental illness.
She said the students took ownership of the project and put in a great effort.
Year 7 student Owen Barry said the program was fun and educational.
“It is to raise awareness for men’s health and depression,” he said.
“We all learned different things about our separate health campaigns.”
