It’s the time of the year to find those last minute gifts.
But don’t worry; Muswellbrook has a wide range of products to suit everyone on your shopping list.
Muswellbrook Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) president Mike Kelly said it was a great chance to give local businesses a boost.
“In times like these we all have to stick together,” he told the Chronicle.
“Muswellbrook businesses have had a tough year and local retailers are hoping for a pick-up in sales for Christmas in this last week before the big day.
“Shoppers in Muswellbrook are getting more choice than ever before with a wide range of gift items available.
“When you look at the variety available from the CBD, Bridge, Brook and Market streets, Muswellbrook Marketplace, Muswellbrook Fair, the industrial estates and along the highway you can get almost anything – everything from major household items to stocking fillers.
“The Chamber is urging shoppers to shop close to home and support the businesses that employ local young people, support our sporting teams, charities and community organisations.”
Mr Kelly said another bonus of looking in Muswellbrook’s shops is the ability to save time on travel and money on fuel.
“They can get personal service and know that after sales service is always close to home as well,” he said.
“On behalf of local businesses, the Chamber wishes everyone in Muswellbrook a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous new year.”
A great chance to pick up locally produced Christmas gifts is the Twilight UP Markets, this evening from 5.30pm, at Simpson Park.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to meet Santa who will be visiting with his elves.
The markets are an initiative of MCCI and Muswellbrook Shire Council.
