The team, chaired by Taya Elphinstone, is the largest group to organise the event locally.
Cancer Council community relations coordinator for Upper Hunter Glen Parsons said the weekend was a fun community event.
“The beauty this year [in Muswellbrook] is there is a group of people with a diverse range of skills,” he said.
Mr Parsons praised the group’s dedication and said they wanted to do their part in the fight against cancer.
“Each person has their own individual story of why they want to be involved,” he said.
“All of these people put their hand up and that is why it works so well.
“Taya [Elphinstone] is almost the youngest but holds arguably the most important job.”
The team, which was led by Miss Elphinstone in 2013, raised $70,000 and this year’s group is aiming to do all they can to make a difference.
“It’s been really good,” she said of the start to this year’s event planning.
“There is a lot of passion [for the cause] and we are on track.”
Don’t forget to register a team for this year.
Those who register before 5pm today will go in the draw to win one night’s accommodation at Rydges in Sydney, in a superior room with parking and a buffet breakfast for two.
