The club has been active in junior tennis for about 50 years, with long-serving members John Milton, Eric Churcher and Tony McTaggart returning to lead the weekly lessons.
“It’s a great sport to get into, one you can play from the cradle to any age, and it’s very affordable,”?McTaggart said.
A donation of $30 per school term is required for anyone interested in junior coaching.
Meanwhile, the club is investing in three brand new surfaces as part of its 50th anniversary.
This is an $80,000 investment, which is mostly funded by the club.
The court construction will start shortly and it is hoped that the inconvenience to players will be kept to a minimum.
Courts one, two and three will be all-weather synthetic grass courts.
These court surfaces have proven both popular and durable.
Matches can be scheduled anytime on this type of surface as they need minimal preparation and maintenance.
There is only one round left of the men’s competition, with 25 players battling for places in the finals.
