Parts of Muswellbrook have been hit by large hailstones and heavy rain on Thursday evening forcing drivers to dash to their cars to get them under cover.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning at 6.58pm across a large slice of NSW.
The warning area covered the Hunter, the North West Slopes and Plains, the Central Tablelands, the Central West Slopes and Plains, parts of the Mid-North Coast, Illawarra and Metropolitan.
No sooner had the Bureau’s warning been issued then the hail started to pelt down.
The hail was short-lived in the Muswellbrook area, but it did reach the diameter of a 50c piece.
The Bureau said observers near Comboyne, south west of Port Macquarie, reported hail stones three centimetres in diameter.
Electricity provider, Ausgrid, said the thunderstorm knocked out power in parts of Muswellbrook, Kayuga, Denman and Scone.
Ausgrid recorded information estimated power supply in Denman would be restored by 8.30pm.
However, the message said it could be 11.30pm before affected customers in Muswellbrook, Kayuga and Scone would have electricity re-connected.
