A PARTNERSHIP between Muswellbrook Shire Council and Hunter TAFE has been considered a formal commitment to Upper Hunter education.

Representatives from both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Muswellbrook Industry & Education Day as part of the Hunter Coal Festival on Monday.
Muswellbrook Shire acting mayor Malcolm Ogg said the education-related projects were finished and under construction shows the local support for Hunter TAFE.
“The history of Muswellbrook Shire and our community’s support for Hunter TAFE is historic and as strong today as it has been at any point in time,” he said.
“Muswellbrook Shire Council is working to ensure a legacy of quality education facilities and teaching for future generations in our shire.”
Hunter TAFE CEO Christine Warrington said the signing would build on an already strong relationship.
“Hunter TAFE is committed to ensuring that we can deliver high quality education and training that is relevant, practical and supports the skills needs of the Upper Hunter,” she said.
“The MOU formalises our strong history of collaboration with Muswellbrook Shire Council in the development of education initiatives for the region.”
After the MOU was signed, Mining Skills Centre students presented a demonstration of the skills they have learnt during their study which will contribute to their level of job readiness.
