For Muswellbrook local Ron Collins, who reached the milestone on May 16, the recipe for a long life was simple.
“He was a hard-worker, non-smoker and non-drinker,” son Allen said.
“They were the rules he lived by.”
Ron has three sons, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He married Agatha Walmsley on November 11, 1941 before moving to Newcastle.
However, he returned to Muswellbrook just two years later.
After working for two different trucking companies, Ron started his own business.
It still runs operates today at the same address.
He has been a resident at Strathearn Village in Scone since 2011.
