The C grader said he had one of those rare days where everything worked.
“I thought that I putted really well, and also hit the drive well which doesn’t often happen for me,” he said.
“Usually I have a good front nine and a bad back nine, so for me to play well through the whole course was pleasing.
“I’m slowly but surely improving my game and it’s starting to show; it was just a really good day for me.”
Fellow C graders Graham Boles and Paul Lanyon and B graders Josh Fuller and John Burke all finished with 67 nett.
Bruce Robinson, 68, Graham Guest and Eric Johnson, both 69, rounded out the top five in B grade.
The top two in A grade, Daniel Yia and Les Cuttriss, ended on 69 nett.
They were followed by Anthony Driscoll, David Schmierer and Eli Serham, all on 70.
Nearest The Pins went to John Burke on the fifth, Paul Duncan on the eighth, Emillo Battista on the 11th, Luke Cameron on the 14th, and Bud Verd on the 17th.
Luke Cameron was Nearest The Pin on the second shot on the first.
Longest drives on the 10th hole went to Josh Slade in A grade, John Marco in B grade, and Chris Garland in C grade.
