The wide range of tasks were assessed on Tuesday, October 13, and presented on Tuesday, October 28.
Muswellbrook South Public School Year 6 student Emily Dunn researched the 20th Battalion at Gallipoli and compiled the information on a poster.
“It’s a really important and personal thing to me,” she said.
“And, because a lot of my ancestors were in it.”
Miss Dunn said the process was fun and there is freedom to do a range of projects, and thanked the teachers for their help.
“It’s been really fun, but also scary and stressful,” she said.
“It is a very good thing to do.”
Muswellbrook High School GATS and enrichment coordinator Caitlin McGrath said the projects were really good, from both primary and high school students.
“All our feeder school have kids involved,” she said.
“There were really different ideas; it really is based on their interest.
“They apply to be a part of it and it’s open to students in Year 6 to Year 10.”
Students created the projects based on whatever they want, and once a part of the program, they were paired with mentors to help them in the process.
