Aberdeen did just that in a come from behind 14-6 win over Singleton on Sunday.
Just like the 1980s classic tune ‘Eye of the Tiger’ plays out, Aberdeen certainly enjoyed the thrill of the fight.
In a frantic first half, minor premiers Singleton went into the break leading 6-0 after Scott Matthews crashed over to the right of the posts.
It seemed like that might almost be enough to get the Greyhounds home, with the score remaining unchanged for over 20 minutes in the second period.
Singleton’s stubborn goal-line defence was proving difficult to break down, repelling wave after wave of Tigers attacks.
However, Aberdeen finally found a way through, spreading the ball wide and scoring in the left corner to make it 6-4 with 13 minutes left.
The Tigers had all the momentum and hit the lead four minutes later after benefiting from a careless penalty.
Aberdeen then sealed a stunning victory with another try in the final few minutes.
Man of the match went to Tigers’ Jacob Boyle.
Try scorers for Aberdeen were Jesse McLean (2) and Liam Wilton.
