The 100-city SOS car tour rolled into Muswellbrook on Monday with one simple aim: to tell their story.
“We’re hoping to raise awareness among residents about the ongoing 17-year long persecution [in China],” Falun Dafa Association president Dr Lucy Zhao said.
“In particular, Falun Gong practitioners are drawing attention to the recently-confirmed allegations of forced organ harvesting from hundreds of thousands of practitioners in China.
“We realise that most Australians know little about Falun Gong and the tragic situation overseas.
“We hope that the car tour, which also takes in Scone, will help fellow-Australians know more about what is going on in China today.”
The SOS expedition is part of a nation-wide campaign.
The Falun Dafa practitioners are asking Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull to call on Chinese leader Xi Jinping to immediately stop the forced organ harvesting from prisoners of conscience and end the persecution of Falun Gong.
“Currently, a postcard campaign across Australia is drawing the attention of Mr Turnbull to the human rights abuses against the spiritual group,” Dr Zhao said.
“More than 20,000 postcards are expected to be delivered to the PM’s office in Canberra.
“Organ harvesting in China has received wide-spread media attention since the release of a new ground-breaking report by independent investigators.
“This is the first time a detailed analysis of over 700 hospitals in China was conducted.
“A team of independent international researchers examined transplantation volumes, bed utilisation, surgical rates, personnel and state funding.”
The report concluded that:
i) Transplantation volumes in China are far greater than reported by official numbers and stand in the hundreds of thousands;
ii) Non-consenting prisoners of conscience remain to be the primary source of unethical organ procurement.
The US House of Representatives passed House Resolution 343 on June 13, 2016, expressing concern regarding persistent and credible reports of systematic, state-sanctioned organ harvesting from non-consenting prisoners of conscience in the People’s Republic of China.
Tony Liu’s persecution story
MY name is Jintao Liu and born in Shandong Province in 1980.
I came from mainland China to Australia in February 2013, and I am now an Australian permanent resident.
I started practicing Falun Dafa in August 1997 when I was a senior high school student.
The experience of practising Falun Dafa significantly improved my body health and enhanced my spiritual energy.
On July 20, 1999, I was kidnapped by the police and sent back to Yishui county of Shandong Province, when I went to Beijing to appeal against the crackdown of Falun Dafa.
I was then confined and experienced a local brainwashing persecution for nearly a month. I was forced by the police to watch the TV programs and read newspaper that slander Falun Dafa, and the police also coerced our family members and relatives to force us give up our beliefs.
At the end of November 2006, when I was a postgraduate student in China University of Petroleum (Beijing), I was arrested by the officials of “610” office and put in Changping brainwashing class, where I was detained and brutally treated in the class for more than a month.
On January 12, 2007, I was confined in Changping Detention for more than one month.
Later I was sentenced to a labour camp for two years and transferred to the Beijing Tuanhe Dispatch Center.
During the following three months, I had been kept in a small cell with harsh monitoring.
The policemen took turns to brainwash me, used the electric baton to strike me, and instigated those evil people such as thieves, drug addicts to punch and kick me while filling the wiping rag into my mouth.
They bent my fingers of both hands so that the third joints of the fingers became swollen.
On May 14, 2007, I was transferred to the Tuanhu Labour Camp, where I was solitary confined in a small cell for nearly half a year.
I experienced many types of torture including being forced to sit on a small bench or stand still till for a long time, to defecate and urinate in my pants without permission to go to toilet, to be deprived of sleep, to brutally feed me with a plastic tube via my nose twice a day.
More inhumanely, the police even inserted a handle of toilet brush into my anus, held me onto a hot radiator to burn my back, and splashed cold water on me in the midnight.
Strange blood test
DURING that period of time, Tuanhe Labor Camp took me twice to the Beijing People Re-education through Labor Dispatch Center for physical examination, where we were X-rayed and blood tested.
However, we were never given the results of the medical check.
One day, all the detainees were exsanguinated directly in the camp.
However, I was not told the result.
This is a potential evidence for preparing to harvest organs of Falun Gong practitioners.
Let’s take action to end the crime
ORGAN harvest is an extremely inhumane crime and should be stopped by all means.
To stop the persecution on Falun Gong and organ harvest, we need to expose the crime and raise the awareness of this in the world.
A joint international effort including Australian people and government will help stop it eventually.
