Popular racing identities Hugh Bowman, James Cumming and Caulfield Cup-winning trainer Ciaron Maher joined the likes of Canberra Raiders great Brett Mullins and TAB’s Glenn Munsie on the 18-hole course.
The fundraiser is also a prelude to the $80,000 Hollydene Estate Wines Muswellbrook Gold Cup meeting, which will take place at the Muswellbrook Race Club on Friday.
Muswellbrook Golf Club CEO Garry Johnson admitted it was great for the two events to support each other.
“Having the [Muswellbrook] Gold Cup on the Friday worked in perfectly for this day,” he said.
“We’re thrilled to have more than 150 players participating.
“And, most of them will back up for the Cup.
“But, today is all about raising money for Movers and Shakers, a Hunter Valley-based Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
“Then, this evening, we’ll host the Muswellbrook Cup Calcutta at the golf club from 5pm.
“Glenn [Munsie] is running that – and we’re expecting Jimmy Smith and TK from the Big Sports Breakfast here as well.
“I’d just like to thank everyone for their support.
“Thankfully, it’s a terrific day for a round of golf.”
