The local organisation will start proceedings with a Come ‘n’ Try day, as well as its annual registration, at Karoola Park on Saturday, February 11.
The introductory session takes place from 10am until 11am, while players can sign up for 2017 between 10am and 2pm.
Muswellbrook Netball Association secretary Mel MacRae-Gross said everyone was looking forward to another year on the courts.
“We have about 400 members on the books,” she admitted.
“But, the Come ‘n’ Try day is a great chance for newcomers and those who haven’t played for a while to see if they like it or not.
“We want to mix it up.
“The rep players are already training, the pre-season begins March 18 and the winter competition gets underway from April 29.”
MacRae-Gross said personnel changes would hold the association in good stead, too.
“We have a new and eager executive on board,” she said.
“While the sub-committee will also contribute greatly to the continuing growth and development of the association.
“We’ve been told our sport has the highest participation rate in the Muswellbrook Shire.
“We had an increase of 185 junior registrations in 2016.
“And, we’re hoping to continue that trend this season.
“When you consider the numbers in our association, compared to the population, there are a lot of girls playing netball in town.
“At the moment, we’re seeking sponsorship [for the organisation] as well as a canteen convenor. Applicants need to email muswellbrook.netball@gmail.com”
The committee consists of: president - Lisa Markham; vice-president - Shelby Lewis; secretary - Mel MacRae-Gross; treasurer - Tina Bowditch; coaching convenor - Rebecca Epps; representative convenor - Jacki Dever; umpires convenor - Shelby Lewis; registrar - Virginia Chapman; and executive members - Angela Cox and Debbie Mitchell.
The sub-committee includes assistant treasurer - Jade Harris; public relations officer - Sarah Watson; fundraising convenor - Kristy Roach; grants officer - Kelly Constable; carnival convenor - Rachel Crossley; and fixtures/recorder convenor - Kim Bray.
