About 1pm on Sunday, March 19, a resident arrived home at his unit in Glenbawn Street to find the premises had been broken into and his television stolen.
He was unable to confirm with police if he left his premises locked and secured, but believes entry may have been gained through the kitchen window at the rear of the building.
About 12.30pm, a witness observed two young people – described as male and approximately 12 years of age – exit the unit carrying a 53cm flat screen television.
He called out to the youths and subsequently gave chase in a foot pursuit across the front yard of the premises.
As he gained on them, the youngster carrying the television threw it at the man – and continued running.
He then ended the pursuit.
When the Glenbawn Street resident arrived home, the witness informed him of what had happened and he called police who attended the scene.
