The Year 7 student excelled in the heats of the girls’ 12 years’ 100m breaststroke to book a berth in the final.
And, she did not let anyone down on the big stage at the Sydney International Aquatic Centre.
Woolnough, 11, finished second to claim a silver medal, much to the delight of her mother Belinda.
The Muswellbrook Amateur RSL Youth Club member registered a sizzling 1:28.31 (and personal best) – more than two seconds ahead of third-placed Maya Dixon.
She completed the first 50m in 41.92 and recorded 46.39 over the latter stages of the event.
Amber Borthwick won the race in a time of 1:27.29.
It’s been a great few months for the youngster.
She has also qualified fastest for the 50m breaststroke, with a 39.84, to move to the next level at the All Schools trials in Sydney on May 12.
