The 21st annual St Heliers Heavy Horse Field Days opened on Saturday at the correctional facility grounds, promising to be another entertaining event.
At the opening ceremony, committee president Louise Turner welcomed those present.
“As a new committee, we’re doing our best to provide you an entertaining field day,” she said.
“I myself have always had a love of heavy horses.
“There seems to be a real resurgence in both competitor and spectator interest in heavy horses.
“We’re looking forward to a very busy future and aim to keep developing our wonderful event for all to enjoy.”
The event will continue into Sunday.
