From 10.30am to 2pm, Simpson Park was full of a variety of activities, designed at bringing the whole community together.
The event, hosted by Upper Hunter Community Services, included National Simultaneous Storytime, where the same book is read across the country.
This year’s tale, read by Janelle Eades, was The Cow Tripped Over The Moon.
The day included markets; local service information; Aboriginal dreamtime story; Muswellbrook Shire Council’s Sustainability Street; free-range ducks and chickens; Toybox art and craft; colouring-in, painting and playdough; and a photo booth.
Even special visitors like a Despicable Me minion, a Ninja Turtle, Elsa from Frozen, and Healthy Harold made an appearance.
Local schools were also involved, including Muswellbrook South Public School who transported 250 children to the park.
