And, local children were offered the same opportunity at Muswellbrook and Denman.
Library coordinator Dion Hockley said it was a good day.
“We had a great turn up here at Muswellbrook library with [more than] 75 attending including kids from Tilly’s [Play and Development Centre] and two Muswellbrook Preschool classes,” she said.
“The kids from Tilly’s did a library tour before the reading began and it was just lovely to see so many kids excited about the National Simultaneous Storytime.”
Muswellbrook Shire Council’s Fiona Plesman read the 2017 story at Muswellbrook library – The Cow Tripped Over the Moon, by Tony Wilson.
There was also a Denman session and a Muswellbrook Aquatic Centre event.
On Friday, Muswellbrook library will take some time to thank their volunteers for their efforts throughout the year.
