But, when you have the support from your local community, it makes the load a little lighter.
Following Jenny Shaw’s lung cancer diagnosis, her good friends at the Royal Hotel decided to host a fundraising event to help out.
Licencee Allan Moxham said Muswellbrook and surrounds had already shown a huge amount of support.
“Jenny’s been a good friend of ours and she’s worked here,” he said.
“Businesses have been great – they’ve dropped packages and things in for us so we can auction them off and have raffles.
“I just want to thank everyone for all the support we have got for it and hopefully everyone will turn up on the night so we can make plenty of money that way.”
The fundraiser will be on Saturday, June 24, and includes raffles and 100 clubs from 5pm.
From 8pm, enjoy a performance from Aberdeen’s Eric Coote, followed by entertainment from Central Coast band Eye on You.
All donations and support will be greatly appreciated, and all are welcome to attend.
