And, a familiar face in Ross Peasley will head up the Bridge Street operation.
Established in 1950, Monteath & Powys is a leading Hunter-based private enterprise with a proven track record of providing the highest quality property and infrastructure development solutions.
The company was founded by John Monteath with son Robert taking over the reins once John retired.
He is still active within the company, with strong family and community values underpinning the business structure.
“I actually approached them to set up here in Muswellbrook,” Mr Peasley said.
“I’ve had a long affiliation with Monteath & Powys over the years.
“I’ve also been in the area myself for more than two decades, so I’ve got a lot of local knowledge.
“I believe it’s a good fit for the region.”
From its offices in Newcastle, Sydney, Gunnedah and, now, Muswellbrook, the team of more than 60 surveyors, spatial experts, engineers, planners, engineering designers, project managers, field and administration staff work in close collaboration to provide clients with high-quality outcomes and exacting personalised service, providing the capacity to meet the time demands of any sized project.
“And, being here [in Muswellbrook] gives Monteath & Powys a critical link between Newcastle and Gunnedah,” Mr Peasley said.
“It also shows our confidence in the region – and future.
“We’re keen to service a diverse range of clients.
“The official opening of the Muswellbrook office will take place mid-July.”
Monteath & Powys is not just a typical survey firm, as it’s always pushing the boundaries of new technologies such as 3D laser scanning and UAV surveys.
In 2016, the company was successful in winning the Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence awards for their 3D modelling of the Newcastle Breakwalls using UAVs.
This is the highest possible honour for spatial experts in the Asia Pacific region.
