But, no amount of triumph on the charts could top front man Darryl Bowen’s joy of being engaged to his girlfriend of two years.
On May 23, Mr Bowen took Kim Perfrement on a date to Muswellbrook Cinema to celebrate their anniversary.
Little did she know, she would have a fiancé before the movie started.
The group’s aptly-named single was written specifically for the purpose of Mr Bowen asking her to marry him, and he worked hard to ensure he didn’t leave clues along the way.
Even if that meant telling “a few porky pies”.
There was also an “alibi” song which was recorded so they had something to show her after recording sessions.
From weekly rehearsals to finding ways to incorporate Ms Perfrement into the music video – Mr Bowen did all he could to make sure the moment was as special, and surprising, as possible.
“Everyone that was involved was brilliant,” Mr Bowen said.
“There was quite a fair bit of work involved but judging by reaction it was all worth it.”
Mr Bowen is grateful for the help of The Filmery and Muswellbrook Cinema in making his proposal perfect.
The Proposal is now available on iTunes for $1.69.
