This year, both the girls’ and boys’ dance groups, comprising of youngsters from Years 3 - 6, capably led by Melissa Whiteman, were successful in their applications for the event.
Hunter Schools Dance Festival is a celebration of dance by Public Schools NSW from the Hunter and Central Coast that provides the opportunity for children to perform alongside peers from other schools and participate in a professional dance setting across the four-day extravaganza.
Principal Megan Druitt said Denman Public School had a proud tradition of involvement in this amazing spectacular.
“It’s wonderful to see our pupils representing our school at this level,” she said.
“Melissa Whiteman, CAPA teacher at DPS, choreographed the routines for both groups to be considered for inclusion in the 2017 Festival.
“It’s an amazing achievement by the students.
“I am incredibly proud of everyone involved.”
