The Appreciative Inquiry conference being hosted in Muswellbrook on Friday and Saturday by the Where There’s a Will Foundation has been made possible thanks to Godolphin, who donated part of the prizemoney from Duca Valentinois’ win in the Scone Cup to sponsor the event.
At the time of the galloper’s victory, Godolphin announced a portion of the winnings would be allocated to the betterment of local schools.
Interim managing director Ross Cole said Godolphin was pleased to support a project that was firmly focused on providing opportunities for children and the wider community to flourish.
“Following the success on the track at the Scone Cup, Godolphin is delighted to contribute $30,000 of Duca Valentinois’ prizemoney to further Where There’s A Will’s vision, and support today’s world first Appreciative Inquiry Summit, for the benefit of our local schools and community,” he said.
“Sheikh Mohammed’s generosity and commitment to our industry enables Godolphin to not only have a positive long-lasting impact on our industry, but also on communities local to our facilities where our staff and their families live and work.
“WTAW’s initiative, in partnership with Positive Education Schools Association, to deliver a pathway for a sustainable healthy future and to provide for a legacy for the young and our local community is applauded.”
Where There’s A Will co-founder Pauline Carrigan said the support of an organisation like Godolphin was important to the foundation’s goals of reducing suicide and improving wellbeing across the Upper Hunter.
“Shifting some of the devastating statistics around mental illness requires a whole of community approach, so it is particularly pleasing to know an influential organisation like Godolphin is supporting the work of Where There’s A Will,” she said.
“We intend to walk away from this summit with a clear plan for giving children in this district every opportunity to flourish and a plan on how to give them to the tools to cope with any challenges that life may throw at them.
“We are very grateful for Duca Valentinois’ success and for Godolphin’s involvement in such a significant project for the Upper Hunter community.”
