The Muswellbrook Local Environment Plan (LEP) is under review and a Draft Discussion Paper has been released for public comment.
The Draft Discussion Paper outlines major changes to land use planning and seeks to address the conflict between mining, equine, viticulture, agribusiness and tourism industries.
It also identifies land use directions and actions to assist the shire in its transition from a major focus on mining to a more diversified economic base over coming decades.
Two information sessions are being held – the first in Muswellbrook on Tuesday, August 15, from 5.30pm-6.30pm at the Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music (Campbell’s Corner, first floor) and the second at the Denman RSL, from 5.30pm-6.30pm on Thursday, August 17.
The Draft Discussion Paper will be on public exhibition until September 22.
The paper can be downloaded at muswellbrook.nsw.gov.au/lepreview or viewed at council’s Administration Centre, Muswellbrook Library or Denman Library.
