With residential Green Waste collection just around the corner, it’s now time for a garden clean up.
Bundle up your green waste for collection in Muswellbrook, Denman and Sandy Hollow from 7am on Monday, October 16, through to October 20.
Green Waste should not be put out for collection before Sunday, October 15.
Green Waste includes prunings and small tree limbs, which should be tied into bundles, no longer than 1.8 metres by 250mm, and stacked neatly on the kerb, and leaves and lawn clippings, which can be placed into cardboard boxes (do not use plastic bags).
Collected waste will be converted to pasteurised mulch, ensuring this valuable resource is recycled.
Visit council’s website for more information or call Water and Waste on 6549 3840.
Graffiti Removal Day is scheduled for October 29 this year and volunteer Graffiti Busters will again be joining forces with Muswellbrook Shire Council and Hunter Valley Local Area Command for the clean-up.
Meanwhile, council’s investment in graffiti removal with the appointment of a graffiti management officer has led to considerable inroads being made into the backlog of graffiti in Muswellbrook and Denman.
As reported to the July meeting of council’s Infrastructure Committee, from January to June this year more than 2000 square metres of graffiti has been removed.
Council utilise the Australian Graffiti Register (AusGR) specialised software to administer the reporting and management of graffiti.
The reporting page is on council’s website and can be used by the public to report graffiti incidents.
To report a graffiti incident, simply go to council’s website, search graffiti and click on Graffiti Removal Request.
Complete the request form and submit.
Along with graffiti removal, council’s graffiti management officer has also been revitalising many council assets using high pressure jetting, including footpaths, car parks, sports grounds, playground areas and play equipment.
With a “clean and green” approach to October, Muswellbrook Shire Council truly has spring in its sights.
