After succumbing to the same opponents in the major semi-final a fortnight ago, the young Rams were determined not to make a similar mistake on home soil.
They grabbed an early lead, via a try to Player of the Match Fletcher Baker and a conversion to Bailey Taylor.
Brayden Turnbull then put Singleton on the scoreboard.
But, a Brock Farrell four-pointer and subsequent goal to Taylor extended the Rams advantage to 12-4.
The Greyhounds threw everything at Muswellbrook in the second half and finally cracked the defence in the final minute, courtesy of Morgan Amidy.
