Muswellbrook business women met after work for a drink and a chat with other like-minded ladies from their area.
Conservatorium director Dr Wendy Brooks said, from the facility’s perspective, it was a nice way to showcase “who we are, and what we have, and what we do”.
“We had a breakfast for International Women’s Day in March, and decided that we would like to meet occasionally as women in the town who work in the town and support each other, get to know each other, find out what each other is doing,” she said.
“So we thought we;d have a cocktail party here.”
Muswellbrook Chamber of Commerce and Industry treasurer Lorraine Skinner said it was the second women’s networking event.
“”It’s a networking opportunity for [women],” she said.
“They meet other ladies who are in business or in a managerial role.
“But it’s not just for those people, it’s for anybody who works in town.
“It’s not a private club or anything like that.
“We’d just like to encourage women who are working to come along and enjoy themselves.”
Those interested in attending future women’s networking events are encouraged to contact Muswellbrook Chamber of Commerce and Industry for more information.
