And, after she just missed out on the top prize in 2016, Cousins Street’s Sandra Speight received a visit from the local group this year.
While they admired Mrs Speight’s garden, labelling it the 2017 Prettiest Garden, the women from Lioness know the stunning landscape doesn’t appear without hard work.
Mrs Speight said a lot of her garden when she moved to the house with her husband, but that she had added her own touches.
“I love watching the garden,” she said.
“I love colour.
“I like being outside, as long as it’s not too hot.”
Mrs Speight said she likes most flowers, particularly her petunias, pansies, lavender and roses.
Muswellbrook Lioness Club members enjoy their annual search, and love seeing the creativity of locals.
The group presented Mrs Speight with a framed certificate and congratulatory gift.
