Between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, the Muswellbrook Showground will be bustling with entertainment, a free barbeque, plenty of children’s activities from face painting to Wildlife Aid animals and lots of great interactive displays to learn more about the mine’s operation.
Attendees will also be able to take part in a bus tour of the mine.
“The Community Open Day is about opening our doors, so people get to know a bit more about us, what we do and our contribution to help strengthen the local community,” Bengalla CEO Cam Halfpenny said.
“We are long term members of the Upper Hunter valley and committed to the future.
“The event is a great opportunity for us to get out in the community, and a good chance for our employees who live in the area to show their families and friends what they do.
“The bus tours that will run every 15 minutes from the showgrounds to Bengalla and back are always very popular.
“Those attending the open day can simply book a bus tour on the day at the showground but get in early as they book out quickly.
“Some of Bengalla’s community partners will be showcasing their business and support for Bengalla.
“Caltex will be bringing along a replica V8 race car, Hitachi will have its truck simulator on hand to experience and Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service will land one of its new helicopters on the day.”
Please note covered footwear is essential for the bus tour and a parent or guardian must accompany children under-12.
The minimum age for the bus tour is five years old.
For the safety of visitors and employees, this Open Day may be postponed in the event of rain.
