In recent days, fast food wrappers, soft drink bottles and takeaway coffee cups have been strewn across the terrain.
Although the Acacia Drive locals did not want to be identified, they were upset by the lack of consideration shown by people who utilised the area.
“I can understand why workers have their lunch there,” one said.
“It’s a nice spot – it’s quiet, a bit out of the way and the views are lovely.
“But, it would be great if they took their litter with them.
“And, if it’s been left there for a while, it looks pretty ugly.
“It’s even worse if it rains.
“I believe it’s just common courtesy [to dispose of it properly].
“They wouldn’t like it if we ventured to their neighbourhood and dumped our stuff.”
Another concerned resident even offered a simple solution.
“People will think we’re just having a whinge, however they don’t live near the area,” he told the Chronicle.
“Maybe, [Muswellbrook Shire] council could investigate the possibility of installing a couple of bins.
“Then this sort of thing, hopefully, wouldn’t occur.”
