And, as a result of her selfless actions, Denman Evening VIEW Club’s Kim Johnson recently received the Making A Difference Award, a prestigious honour within the national organisation.
“It was certainly a surprise – but a very nice one,” she said.
“You don’t do things for the recognition.
“So, I’d like to thank the Denman Evening VIEW Club members for nominating me.
“Currently, I’m volunteering at Merton Court, which includes assisting with the morning and afternoon teas, and taking the residents on outings.
“From a club perspective, we’re raising money for The Smith Family to help children with their education.
“I really enjoy what I do.”
VIEW Clubs of Australia national president Gwen Wilton praised the Upper Hunter local.
“Kim’s outstanding contribution to her club, VIEW, The Smith Family and the community is impressive,” she said.
“She’s a true ambassador for VIEW, demonstrated by her involvement in the care of elderly residents in her local area.
“Her actions will raise awareness and understanding of VIEW and our work with The Smith Family and encourage others to join the club, Denman Evening VIEW, to continue the support of children in need.
“Her achievement will be acknowledged on the VIEW website and Kim’s name was added to our Honour Roll at National Convention 2017.”
