After receiving a bye in round one, the side has accounted for Denman, Scone, Nemingha, Bolwarra and New Lambton to set up a quarter-final showdown with Caves Beach on Friday.
“This is the furthest an MPS cricket team has been in the tournament for a long time,” teacher Renee Coward said.
“Entering into the seventh round means they are in the top eight sides in the state.
“The boys have been training together since February this year and developed a strong bond not only as a team, but as mates.
“They display a great level of skill and, more importantly, an impressive level of sportsmanship, always clapping and cheering for their opponents, making their coaches proud.
“The lads have given up countless numbers of lunches and even practice on a Sunday.
“They have an amazing support group, too, with parents, siblings and grandparents travelling hours to cheer them on and encourage them to do their personal best.
“We would like to send a special thanks to Tanya Cook, who scores for us, and coach Shane Gageler, who continues to support our team.
“If we are successful on Friday, we will then progress to the semi-final of the PSSA Knockout.”
The team consists of Wil S, Andrew C, Cooper G, Jimmy K, Oscar M, Alex B, Emmet T, Aiden S, Levi H, Harry S, Hunter S, Deacon E, Fletcher W and Hayden D.
