Following a recent meeting, it was decided that the blokes required some new headwear, especially with summer fast approaching.
So, a couple of them put their hands up to find a sponsor.
And, on Tuesday, Brad Collins and Brad Smith from MMS Engineering presented the hard workers with a heap of new caps.
“Our hats were shabby, so we needed to replace them,” Gerard Minch admitted.
“We often have jobs outside; and these caps will offer a bit of coverage from the sun.
“We’d like to thank Brad and Brad, as well as MMS Engineering, for their sponsorship [of these hats].
“With the help of these sponsors and other businesses, the men’s shed is able to operate much better.”
Mr Minch said the local organisation, which boasted 35 members on the book, had “plenty to keep us going”.
“Since we moved into our new shed two years ago, we’ve been fairly busy,” he explained.
“At the moment, we’re working on a heap of bird boxes.
“In fact, we’ve had an order for 200 from Liddell Coal [mine].”
The Denman & District Men’s Shed meets every Tuesday from 9am to 3pm.
