POLICE are appealing for public assistance to help locate a teenager missing from the Muswellbrook area.

Leyton Matthews, aged 13, was last seen leaving a home in Muswellbrook in March 2017.
Police have information that he has been in contact with family members during this time; however officers are yet to sight him and there are concerns for his welfare.
Officers attached to Hunter Valley Local Area Command are continuing their inquiries and seeking public assistance to locate him.
He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, of medium build, about 125cm tall with brown hair and brown eyes.
Police believe he may be in the Newcastle area.
