OLIVER and Charlotte reigned supreme as Victoria’s most loved baby names for 2017.  Bubs in the Wimmera followed suit with both Oliver and Charlotte topping the names shared in the Wimmera Mail-Times’ classifieds birth notices.  Two little Olivers and Charlottes were welcomed into the world.  Tied for first place in the newborn boys’ category were Cooper, Lachlan and Jack while girls’ names Georgia, Billie and Elyssa were well represented.   Horsham’s Mary-Ellen Lamont welcomed twins Oliver and Lachlan on March 14. She chose the name Oliver while her husband Andrew picked Lachlan – or Ollie and Lachie for short. “The only time we use their full names are when they’re being cheeky,” she said. She said popularity did not influence her decision because she had the name on her list since she was a teenager. “I always had a long list for girls names, but not many for boys. I had always loved the name Oliver, though,” she said.
