The young side will head to the NSW State Age Championships in Wollongong, starting from July 1.
Coach Rachelle Watson said the girls were very excited by the prospect of competing at the tournament for the first time.
“They have been training hard as a team and winning games at events around the region,” she said.
The players need to raise about $8000 to cover the costs associated with the State Age Championships.
Luckily, Graeme and Suzanne Sealey from Muswellbrook Holden have come on board as a sponsor.
“On top of their donation, they’ve also generously offered $100 for every new or used car sold when the 12 years’ representative team is mentioned – so please mention our team,” Watson said.
“Phil and Yela Wilson from Muswellbrook McDonald’s are also kindly holding a fundraising night on Tuesday, June 7, for the girls.
“Ten per cent of all sales between 6pm and 7pm will be donated to the team.
“We would like to thank Muswellbrook Steel Supplies and Coolmore, who have also made donations to the side, and Pukara Estate and Melanie’s Jewellers, who donated prizes for our raffle.
“If there are any other businesses or community members who would like to support the team, they can contact the Muswellbrook Netball Association.”
Muswellbrook’s 12 years’ team is Sophie Gumb, Abby Howard, Meg Haylen, Charlotte Kelly, Imogen Owen, Isla Hamson, Lily Cubillo, Matilda Raphael, Memphis Dever and Abby Ellis.
