At its ordinary meeting this month, Muswellbrook Shire Council adopted the Denman Town Centre Concept Masterplan.
It has now been made available again for viewing on council’s website.
The Denman Town Centre Concept Masterplan aims to inform future planning directions, identify opportunities for improved retail, commercial and public activities, improve access in and around the village centre and create high quality public spaces within the town centre focusing on visibility, access, mix of uses and amenities.
Further, it intends to address long-standing issues related to stormwater management and parking.
It also provides an opportunity for council to identify, prioritise and implement different strategic projects within the Denman town centre, in a timely manner.
“The document was the subject of extended public input and consultation,” council’s acting manager planning and environment Graham Gardner said.
“And, now that it has been formally adopted, council will proceed with detailed design work to support its implementation.
“Council wishes to thank all members of the Denman community for their input into the Concept Masterplan, which will inform the future growth and infrastructure development of the Denman township.”
Council has funded two main projects identified in the draft Concept Master Plan in its 2016/2017 budget.
They include design and reconstruction of Palace Street and Denman town entry landscaping works.
Both projects are currently underway.
