The 40th edition of the tournament boasted a strong field of contenders.
But, it was Dial who held off the young guns to claim another title.
A tough opponent in any stroke event, he’d previously won the trophy five times – his first as a 21-year-old in 1986.
Dial said his experience in the competitive arena gave him the edge over the club’s youngsters.
“In the end, a shot separated myself from a couple of guys,” he explained.
“It’s [Mayor’s Cup] an event I really enjoy.
“The course was set hard on Saturday.
“However, I was pretty happy with the way I hit them.
“I’m thrilled with the result.”
