Muswellbrook Cats and Newcastle Nova’s will field sides for the first time – and join Cardiff, Gosford, Killarney Vale, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Nelson Bay, Newcastle City, Singleton, Warners Bay Wyong Lakes in the new-look format.
All 12 squads were due to take to the paddock for the annual Black Diamond AFL Women’s Gala Day at Tulkaba Park, Teralba, on Saturday.
However, the weather intervened.
“Unfortunately, the event was cancelled,” football operations manager Garry Burkinshaw said.
“We were looking forward to seeing our latest newcomers Muswellbrook and Newcastle Nova’s in action.
“The Cats were scheduled to face Lake Macquarie, Warners Bay and Singleton.
“But, that will now have to wait until the season kicks off.”
