Betty Erickson had the opportunity to discover her shopping priorities, thanks to the Lioness Club of Muswellbrook.
For a few years now, the Muswellbrook group’s raffle has participated in the Lions Australian Grocery Grab, selling raffle tickets for a good cause.
The annual event raises funds for the Lions Cord Blood Foundation.
This foundation gives money to the Fight Cancer Foundation for storing cord blood units, which are used to help children with leukemia.
Lioness members volunteered their time to sell raffle tickets at Muswellbrook Coles.
Store Manager Phil Winkler drew the winning ticket out, revealing the Ericksons would be the ones taking on the challenge.
The Lioness Club will donate 50 per cent of the profit back to the community.
The group is always looking for new members.
