And, that trend is set to continue with the organisation’s annual Charity Golf Day at the Muswellbrook Golf Club on Sunday, July 30.
The four-person ambrose event, which starts from 9am for a 10am tee off, will aid Cystic Fibrosis (CF) research and other worthy groups.
Organiser Matthew Jeans said it was a great day for good causes, both local and national.
“We average 100 players each year, so we hoping to hit that mark again,” he explained.
“One-hundred per cent of the money raised goes to charity.
“For $40 per player, which includes two food and two drink vouchers, it is a terrific golfer’s day out.
“There is also a lucky door prize, worth $1000 in total, and raffles afterwards in the clubhouse, as well as nearest the pin and longest drive competitions.
“Non-handicap golfers are definitely welcome, with a maximum [handicap] for men 18 and ladies 32.
“Two tee shots are required from all players in the team – and recorded on the score card.”
Mr Jeans said participants would be vying for more than $2000 worth of trophies and prizes.
“We’ve got various local businesses supporting the event, which we’re extremely thankful for,” he admitted.
“The past five years we have raised $30,000.
“So, we’re praying for good weather and a good field on July 30.”
